Delete your account
This page explains how to delete a Vroom One account, what deleting it removes, what it does not remove, and how to ask us to delete an account if you cannot use the app. It covers the Vroom One app for drivers (iPhone and Android) and the organiser accounts used in the Vroom One web portal and the Tour Desk app.
Delete a driver account in the app
You can delete your account yourself, from inside the Vroom One app, while signed in:
- Open the Profile screen.
- Tap the Settings (gear) icon.
- Scroll down, below Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and Sign Out, and tap Delete Account.
- Read the confirmation and choose Delete. Deletion cannot be undone.
The steps are the same on iPhone and on Android. Delete Account only appears when you are signed in to an account. If you joined an event with a join code and never created an account, there is no account to delete.
What deleting your account removes
These are removed together, at the moment you confirm, and every device signed in to the account is signed out:
- Your account itself: email address, name, mobile number, password, and the emergency contact saved on your account.
- Any Google or Apple sign-in linked to the account.
- Your saved vehicles.
- Photos you uploaded through the app, including any you had shared with an organiser.
- A driving licence image, if you submitted one to your account.
- Push-notification registrations for your devices and the notifications in your in-app notification centre.
- Unused email-verification and password-reset links.
What deleting your account does not remove
Records of events you took part in. When you join an event, the organiser’s roster holds a record for you: the name and contact details, emergency contact, vehicle, RSVP and group recorded for that event. Deleting your account disconnects those records from it, so they are no longer tied to a Vroom One account, but it does not erase them, or the event history that goes with them, such as messages, the tracking history of the drive, any SOS alert, and the answers you gave to event documents. The organiser of each event is also responsible for that information (see our Privacy Policy).
Signed event documents. A signature image and the record of what was acknowledged are handled separately, because a signed record may be needed to establish or defend legal claims. The Event document signatures section of the Privacy Policy sets out what is deleted and what is retained.
A deletion receipt. To make sure a deletion that was interrupted can be safely repeated, we keep a record containing only random identifiers (the operation, the former account and the session) and the time of deletion. It holds no name or email.
We have not set a fixed period for how long event records are kept after an account is deleted. If you ask us, we will confirm what is kept for your events and why.
Ask us to delete your account or your event records
If you cannot sign in, no longer have the app, or also want your records for particular events erased, email support@vroomtours.app from the address on your account. Tell us your name, the email address of the account, and which events you want covered. We will reply to confirm what we have deleted and what we are keeping and why, including where a signed record has to be kept.
Organiser accounts and organisations
Organiser accounts are used in the Vroom One web portal and the Tour Desk app. The Tour Desk app has no delete option of its own; use the portal or ask us.
- Deleting an organisation (Owner only). In the web portal, the organisation Owner opens Settings, then Danger zone, then Request deletion. This archives the organisation straight away, which signs every member out, and flags it so that Vroom One staff can permanently delete the organisation and its data. The permanent deletion is completed by staff rather than instantly.
- Removing a team member. An organisation Admin can remove a member in Settings, then Members. Their access ends immediately. The Owner cannot be removed this way.
- Deleting your own organiser login. There is no self-service option for this today. Email support@vroomtours.app from the address on the account and we will tell you what we can delete and what we need to keep.
